SmartCardBus^® Controllers

SmartCardBus^® (OZ711E0/OZ711EC1/OZ711E1/OZ711E2) combines a Smart Card Reader (SCR) and CardBus controller in a single IC. With the introduction of SmartCardBus, O₂Micro^® has taken a major step in lowering the cost of ownership of e-commerce and corporate security Smart Card applications. In addition to the "Designed for Microsoft Windows" logo certification, SmartCardBus products are compliant with Microsoft PC/SC, ISO 7816-1, -2, -3 electrical specifications, standard protocols including T = 0, T = 1, and are EMV Level 1 certified. EMV certification is a requirement for SCRs when used with the new financial smart cards issued by American Express, Visa and Citibank (MasterCard).

• Pin compatible with O₂Micro's OZ6912, OZ711EC1 and OZ711M1
• Supports designs using a single-slot CardBus Controller with optional dedicated Smart Card Reader
• Smart Card Reader enabled by using a passive adapter

• Pin compatible with O₂Micro's OZ6912, OZ711E0 and OZ711M1
• Supports designs using a single-slot with dedicated Smart Card Reader (SCR) interface
• Supports O₂Micro's SmartCardBus^® mode at the PC Card socket
• Integrated PnP reader -- no end user installation required
• Patented SmartCardSensing^® -- O₂Micro's card detection technology automatically senses whether a PC Card or smart card is inserted
• Reads and writes to all ISO 7816-1, -2, -3, -10 compliant smart cards
• Supports PC/SC, Open Card, and CT-API (B1) standards
• 144-pin LQFP and Mini-BGA packages

• Pin compatible with O₂Micro's OZ6933 CardBus controller
• Supports designs using 2 PC Card slots, or designs containing a single PC Card slot and a single dedicated smart card slot (designs containing 2 PC Card slots require an additional low cost PC Card passive adapter)
• Integrated PnP reader -- no end user installation required
• Patented SmartCardSensing^® -- O₂Micro's card detection technology automatically senses whether a PC Card or smart card is inserted
• Reads and writes to all ISO 7816-1, -2, -3 Smart Cards
• Supports PC/SC, Open Card, and CT-API (B1) standards
• 208-pin TQFP and 209 Ball Mini-BGA packages

• Pin compatible with O₂Micro's OZ711M3
• Supports designs using 2 PC Card slots, plus a dedicated Smart Card slot
• Additional Smart Cards can be supported by using low cost PC Card passive smart card adapters

• Patented SmartCardSensing^® -- O₂Micro's card detection technology automatically senses whether a PC Card or Smart Card is inserted
