Intelligent Lighting
O2Micro offers a family of Intelligent Lighting products (OZ960/OZ961/OZ963/OZ965/OZ969A/OZ970/OZ971) that are unique, high efficiency, CCFL backlight inverter controllers. They will enhance designs for new, single-stage, next-generation inverter modules that drive a CCFL backlight. All Inverter ICs implement O2Micro's patented single-stage inverter architecture, which improves the lamp's light output by 10% to 25% per watt of input power.
Additionally, all inverters employ O2Micro's patented pulse-width-modulation (PWM) output drive architecture with Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) technology. The ZVS technique enables the design of efficient, low-loss CCFL inverter circuits.
Each device converts a DC source to a high-voltage, high frequency quasi-sine wave required to ignite and operate a CCFL, and are ideal for driving various sizes of LCD backlight lamps, currently being designed into next generation LCD displays, which include monitors, televisions, notebooks and GPS applications.
