OZ165 Next Generation AudioDJ™
10/28/99
O2Micro International, Ltd., a leading supplier of innovative ICs to notebook manufacturers worldwide, is pleased to announce the release of the feature-enhanced, next generation AudioDJ IC, OZ165.
One of the new features added in the OZ165 AudioDJ is the powerful track scanning control that allows the user to scan forward or back any audio track by holding down the corresponding FF and REW buttons. This robust user interface integrates the "STOP" and "PLAY" icon support onto the CD status LCD, as well as "PAUSE", signified by a blinking "PLAY" icon.
As power consumption is a key tenet behind AudioDJ's design, the OZ165 now includes an automatic power saving feature that effectively stops the internal clock to the IC (except wakeup and sleeping logic) when idle. This additional power saving scheme helps conserve battery life.
"The OZ165 is the next logical evolution in the AudioDJ family of ICs," Reginia Chan, Vice President of Advance Development said. "The new features add improved functionality for the user while streamlining power consumption for a more efficient audio solution."
The AudioDJ family of ICs unleashes the power of music in notebooks by allowing audio CD play while the notebook is OFF. This unique, non-intrusive chip design works with traditional ISA/PCI based audio chipsets while isolating notebook power consumption to only the CD-ROM, significantly extending CD playtime while conserving battery power.
O2Micro designs high performance mixed signal ICs for portable applications. Product lines include battery management products and chargers, CCFL backlight inverter ICs, CardBus controller ICs, GPIO and CDPlay ICs. O2Micro's products address the system designers' increasing requirements for high performance, low power, and simple use solutions.
