Santa Clara, CA - Tuesday, August 4, 1998 - O2Micro International, Ltd. is pleased to announce that its OZ6860 and OZ6833 family of CardBus host controllers are the first in the industry to have been awarded National Software Testing Laboratories (NSTL) Compatibility Certificate. O2Micro enlisted the services of NSTL to provide additional independent CardBus compatibility testing. NSTL is a leading independent testing organization in the microcomputer and workstation industry, dedicated to providing high quality testing capabilities to the information technology community. NSTL's proficiency and thoroughness provides organizations with a high quality means to assess, evaluate, differentiate, procure and implement products and technologies.
A major concern for notebook manufacturers today is compatibility with existing PCMCIA devices. NSTL's thorough testing procedures include compatibility testing of nearly 100 of the industry's leading PCMCIA 32-bit CardBus and 16-bit PC Card devices.

The OZ6860 controller supports a dual PCMCIA slot with an integrated triple zoomed video port while the OZ6833 supports a dual PCMCIA slot.
