Santa Clara - O2Micro Incorporated, a leading supplier of innovative ICs to notebook manufacturers worldwide, announces the introduction of a new advanced single chip Smart Battery Selector -- the OZ982.
Packaged in a space saving 28 pin SSOP, the OZ982 Smart Battery Selector is the only highly integrated smart battery selector device, having built-in analog switches and comparators, that complies to Intel's System Management Bus (SMBus) specification for Smart Battery Selector specification, release 1.0. Francis Truntzer, an Intel spokesman said "The Smart Battery Selector is a key component of the Smart Battery System (SBS) architecture. O2Micro's product will enable notebook OEMs to build cost effective yet flexible solutions for multi-battery SBS compliant systems."
