O2Micro Trade Secret Judgment Affirmed By Appeals Court

April 11, 2007. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management, and security components and systems, announced that the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed without opinion the previous November 2005 judgment of the United States District Court in Oakland, California against Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. ("MPS").

In the November 2005 judgment, the District Court awarded O2Micro $900,000 in reasonable royalty damages and $1.8 million in enhanced damages for MPS' misappropriation of O2Micro trade secrets based in part on the jury's finding that MPS' misappropriation was willful and malicious. The District Court also entered judgment finding all asserted claims of MPS' '814 and '881 patents to be invalid and not infringed.
