Power Management Patent Continuation Granted to O2Micro
October 31, 2005. O2Micro® International Limited (Nasdaq: OIIM), a leading supplier of innovative power management and
security components and systems for the Computer, Consumer, Industrial, and Communications markets, was granted 13 claims under United States patent number 6,949,912 for its Enabling Circuit to avoid Negative Voltage Transients; a continuation of United States patent number 6,756,769 issued June 2004.
This patented IC design protects the battery charger controller from damage in portable electronic devices, and simplifies system implementation by avoiding negative voltage spikes on the controller terminals. Portable electronic devices include notebook computer, cell phone, PDA (Personal Digital
Assistant), PMP (Portable Media Player) and MP3 player applications.
