O2Micro Granted Patent for Battery Gas Gauge Architecture

January 21, 2008. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components and systems, was issued 20 claims under United States patent number 7,095,211 for its Battery Gas Gauge invention.

This patented Battery Gas Gauge architecture estimates remaining battery capacity, based on a variety of monitored conditions, and determines a battery's "full" capacity. Applications include notebook computers, PDAs, cell phones and other mobile electronic devices powered by battery.
