UK Patent Issued for O2Micro's VPN Firewall Upgrade System

December 13, 2007. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components and systems, was issued 17 claims under Great Britain (GB) patent number 2,425,627 for its Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) IC upgrade system in VPN Firewall solutions.

Security boards for O2Micro's VPN Firewall products, such as SifoWorks™, are built with an ASIC IC, providing a patented, robust and economic solution for upgrades. System upgrades address customer requests, such as the addition of new features.
