O2Micro Issued Patent for Audio CD Player

November 12, 2007. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components and systems, was issued 9 claims under United States patent number 7,243,168 for its Low-Power Audio CD Player invention for portable computers; a continuation of the invention issued March 2004 under United States patent number 6,711,631.

This invention allows audio CD play without providing power to the Notebook CPU and LCD display thereby extending battery life for the mobile end-user, providing many hours of audio CD entertainment.
