O2Micro Granted Key Patent for System to Offload Converter/Controller-Specific Tasks

January 19, 2009. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components, was issued 35 claims under United States patent number 7,412,553 for its System and Method for Offloading Converter/Controller-specific tasks to a system microprocessor; a continuation of the invention issued September 2005 under United States patent number 6,941,405.

This patented invention provides an offloading system for protocol control and conversion information within microprocessor-based systems. Applications include connectivity controllers and other device controllers for computer systems.
