O2Micro Granted Low-Power Audio CD Player Patent

June 5, 2008. O2Micro® International Limited (NASDAQ®: OIIM; SEHK: 0457), a leading supplier of innovative power management and security components and systems, was issued 35 claims under United States patent number 7,359,998 for its Low-Power Audio CD Player invention; a continuation of the invention issued October 2006 under United States patent number 7,130,930.

An end-user can enjoy many hours of audio CD entertainment, without turning on Notebook computer power, using this patented design. It allows audio CD play without providing power to the Notebook CPU and LCD display thereby extending battery life.
